Community of Practice – Specialisation Disability

The ACCE Community of Practice (Specialisation Disability) was established to support schools, school practitioners and pathway coordinators to deliver career services to improve transitioning outcomes for young people with disability. It is an opportunity for members to connect and explore strategies to enhance outcomes for young people with disability to improve transitioning into skills, study and mainstream employment.

This session will focus on: Supporting Students with Disability to Successfully Transition to TAFE

Join George Giannikos, Disability Transition Officer at William Angliss Institute, as he explores how effective transition planning helps students with disability, neurodiversity, medical conditions and mental health challenges successfully move from secondary school into further education. This session will provide an overview of the Disability Transition Officer Program, the support available before and after enrolment, and the collaborative approach involving students, families, schools and support networks. Attendees will gain practical insights into building confidence, independence and meaningful pathways into education, employment and adulthood.
