Community of Practice – Specialisation Disability
The ACCE Community of Practice (Specialisation Disability) was established to support schools, school practitioners and pathway coordinators to deliver career services to improve transitioning outcomes for young people with disability. It is an opportunity for members to connect and explore strategies to enhance outcomes for young people with disability to improve transitioning into skills, study and mainstream employment.
Topic: Accessible online learning: assistive technology engagement and content quick wins to support young people with disability
Young people with disability use a variety of assistive technologies to engage with content, and that content must be accessible for independence to be achieved. Dr Scott Hollier from Centre for Accessibility Australia will discuss some popular assistive technology products including a screen reader demonstration, then discuss some of the accessibility quick wins that can be achieved in making accessible content along with some highlighted implications of AI in this space.
